Jim Madison is the employee health provider at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Jim walks the walk and talks the talk of exercising and eating right. He sets the bar high and is a role model for employees and the veterans served by the medical center.
Jim has gone above and beyond what is required by working to establish the employee health program and by making it something employees would be interested in and able to work into their schedules. Jim conducts exercise evaluations and develops individual plans, based on specific needs. He also encourages healthy lifestyles, by participating in a goal sharing team which encourages employee health and wellness. In addition, Jim brought in Weight Watchers after hours to the VA to help employees working toward healthier lifestyles.
Jim's efforts don't stop with employees…he has a vision for the entire medical center to be healthy and fit. Jim serves as a motivational speaker in the Motivating Overweight Veterans Everywhere (MOVE) program. He is helping the center's MOVE coordinator improve the health and wellness of veterans.
